Betty Böhm has developed a site-specific soundscape using the plants in the gallery’s garden, based on her installation in the Silent Spring exhibition. Using special microphones, she recorded the inherent motion vibrations of specific plants and transformed them into a Körnerpark-specific composition. Böhm will perform live over this foundational composition, this carpet of sound. Using a special microphone that converts electromagnetic radiation into acoustic signals, she will make artificial sources of radiation such as electrical appliances, laptops, and mobile phones, audible, and “play” them live.
